PositionSummary

TheTeacher/TeachingAssistantisresponsibleforapartialteachingloadandalsosupportsotherclassesasateachingassistant.TheTeacher/TAisexpectedtoworkcollaborativelywithfacultyandadministrationtodevelopcurriculumandschoolprocessesduringthestart-upphase.



EssentialFunctions

1.Curriculum,InstructionandAssessment:

·Implementcurriculumsupportingstudents’conceptual,competency,andcharacterdevelopment;

·Assessstudentdevelopmentandperformanceusingavarietyofassessmenttechniquesandmodels;trackdataanddevelopgroupingsasneededtobestmeetstudentneedsandensuregrowth;

·Assistwithdevelopment,documentation,implementationandrefinementofadifferentiated,high-levelcurriculum,includingparticipationinschool-widecurriculumalignmentanddevelopment;

·Ensureteachingapproachesreflectandsupportmultipleformsofdiversityandareresponsivetoaninternationallearningcommunity.

2.CollaborationandParticipation:

·Setandparticipateinteamgoalsfocusedonstudentgrowthandsupportedbygrowthdata,andcollaboratewithothersregularly;

·Participateinprofessionaldevelopmentsessions;

·Participateincollaborativewalkthroughandobservationpractices;embracesite-basedprofessionaldevelopmentthroughsharingofbestpractices;

·Whenactingasteachingassistant,followandsupporttheclassroomexpectationsoftheleadteacher.

3.StudentandFamilySupport:

·Proactivelyinvolveparentsintheirchild’seducation,includingpositiveoutreach;communicateregularlyonindividualstudentprogressoutsideofreportingperiods;

·Establishandmaintainroutinesandusepositiveandcollaborativeapproachestostudentbehaviormanagement,effectivelyapproachingstudentmisbehaviorsaslearningopportunities;

·Holdconferencesandmeetingstosupportfamilies,participateinStudentSupportmeetings.

4.Other:

·Monitorandassiststudentsonplaygrounds,lunches,andotherassigneddutytimes;

·Participateinspecialevents,includingeveningeventssuchas,BacktoSchoolNight,ParentConferences,musicconcerts,andmore;

·Arrangefieldtrips,buses,andspecialeventsthatenhancethecurricularprogram;

·AssistforeignstaffwithacclimatingtoChina.



RequiredQualifications

·Bachelor'sdegreeoraboveineducationorrelatedfield.

·Minimum1yearofexperienceofrelatedwork.

·Excellentinterpersonalcommunicationskills.

·English/Mandarinbilingualproficiency.

·Professionalverbalandwrittencommunicationskills.

·ComfortwithtechnologyincludingMacOS,MicrosoftOffice,Excelanddatabases.

·Experienceworkinginaninternationalschoolsettingpreferred.

·WillingnesstobepartofaProfessionalLearningCommunity.
